Preschool Daily Schedule

9:00 ARRIVAL TIME/OPEN CENTERS 1:00
Teachers greet children as they arrive and help them explore different
interest areas. Teachers facilitate learning by guiding and encouraging
children in choosing and participating in center activities.
10:15 1ST GROUP TIME: MUSIC & MOVEMENT 2:15
Children develop large motor coordination, language and listening
skills along with the ability to follow directions.
10:30 HAND WASHING/SNACK TIME 2:30
One teacher aids children in washing their hands properly. Teachers
sit with children at snack time to help them learn social skills.
10:45 OPEN CENTER TIME 2:45
Children return to the centers of their choice, while teachers continue
to facilitate learning.
11:10 CLEAN UP TIME 3:10
Teachers and children help each other to pick up and tidy the classroom.
11:20 2ND GROUP TIME: STORY TIME 3:20
The teacher reads planned books to the group, as children develop
listening, language and literacy skills.
11:30 OUTDOOR PLAY TIME 3:30
Children are learning social, emotional and physical skills, while
teachers also interact with children. The playground is considered
an extension of the classroom.
12:00 DISMISSAL 4:00
NOTE: Toileting needs are met throughout the session as needed.
However, extra attention is given after snack time. Also, the
scheduled times may be affected during the winter season when
more time is needed for dressing into winter clothing.
