About Somerset ECC
Somerset is a licensed, accredited, independent private school with no religious affiliation. Our school is in the education wing of the University Presbyterian Church in Rochester Hills, Michigan, on Adams Road, North of Hamlin Road and South of Avon Road. Our school offers programs for children two and a half years old through Kindergarten with a low child-to-teacher ratio:
Preschool
2 1/2 – 4 Years
Toilet Training Not Required
1 Teacher to 8 Students
Pre-Kindergarten
4 – 5 Year
1 Teacher to 9 Students

Somerset Learning Environment
Somerset is designed to enable our teachers to provide an optimal balance of planned, organized experiences and flexible, spontaneous experiences which respond to the immediate interests of the children. It is comprised of learning materials and equipment purposely selected for the development of a range of skills, knowledge and investigative processes.
Individualized Scheduling
Parents may select a schedule for their child that meets their family needs ranging from traditional Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Tuesday, Thursday morning or afternoon schedules to any combination of morning and afternoon sessions.
Accreditation
Somerset has been nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) since 2000, almost 20 years. Becoming accredited by NAEYC is a very challenging process which takes approximately one year to complete. Programs are evaluated on 10 criteria developed by a panel of leading early childhood educators from across the US. These criteria are based on current research in Early Childhood Education.
